Senior Yearbook Portraits: Attention Senior Class of 2025: For those of you who did NOT have your senior portrait taken over the summer through Prestige, please plan to do so on Tuesday, September 10th during your lunch period in the faculty cafeteria. The photo sessions will take place between 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. No appointment needed but outfit changes will not be allowed. This is your last chance to be included with your graduating class in the Glenbard North Yearbook AND is of no charge to you to appear in the yearbook. Please dress to impress! Counseling: Senior Parent College and Financial Aid night presentation is this Tuesday from 6:30-8PM in the Little Theatre. Great opportunity to learn more about the process and get your questions answered.

ISAC Counseling:  If you would like help getting started with your college applications join us in the library this Tuesday during PLC time.

FEM Club: Looking for a safe and empowering space to help raise awareness around women’s issues?! Come check out Feminism Empowerment Movement Club! Our next meeting is on Thursday, September 12th from 3:15-4pm in Mrs. Nyland/Ms. Ladas’s room 1114! We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month! Everyone is welcome!

Social Studies: Attention Juniors and Seniors: Are you interested in working as an election judge for the November elections? The election is on November 5, 2024 which is also a day off from school. To serve as an election judge, you must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, submit an application, and complete a required online training program.If you are interested in applying, you must attend an information meeting which will be on Tuesday, Sept 10 both before school starting at 7:30am or after school starting at 2:30 in room 1118 with Mr. Coon. There will also be a meeting on Wednesday, Sept 11 starting at 7:30am in room 1110 with Mrs. Bray-Parker. Even if you have previously served as an election judge, you still need to attend a meeting and submit an application. Meetings will last ~20 minutes, and you must attend a meeting to receive the paper application. Please email Mr. Coon in the Social Studies Department if you have any questions.

Social Studies: ATTENTION SENIORS: VOTER REGISTRATION EVENT If you will be 18 on or before November 5th, 2024, you can officially vote in the General Election on November 5th, 2024. However, you can only vote if you have registered to vote. The good news is that the Glenbard North Social Studies Department, in cooperation with the League of Women Voters, will host a voter registration drive on Monday, September 16 during all lunch periods. The registration tables will be located in the north end of the cafeteria, and the process takes less than 10 minutes. To register to vote, you will need to be a U.S. citizen and have TWO forms of identification. This can include your student ID and your driver’s license. If you are a naturalized citizen, you will also need your passport OR know the name, city, and state of your naturalization court and the date of your naturalization. Congratulations on reaching this civic engagement milestone!

Homecoming week and Homecoming Dance: Homecoming Week is September 16th to September 21st. Themes can be found in student emails. The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 21st from 6 – 9 PM. Tickets will go on sale starting Thursday, September 12th for $25 through the GoFan website. For more information about the dance, please look refer to Panther Rundown that was sent to Student emails for link. Guest Passes for the Homecoming Dance are now available in Student emails and can be picked up in main office and in the dean’s office. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU START WORKING ON THIS RIGHT AWAY. If you plan to bring an outside guest to the homecoming dance you will need to complete the top half of this form and have an administrator from your guest’s school complete the bottom portion. Once these steps are complete, please give this form to your dean for approval. After these steps are complete we will email you an access code you can use to buy the guest ticket. Please know that you will not be able to purchase a ticket for your guest until you receive this access code. All dance guest passes are due no later than Thursday, September 18th. We will not take any requests after this date. If you have additional questions, please contact Cheronda Gilbert or Kevin Erday.  

School Counseling Department: Please join your GBN School Counseling Department and a representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) for Senior College/Financial Aid Night on Tuesday, September 10th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in The Little Theatre at Glenbard North High School.An overview of the college application process and financial aid information regarding the FAFSA will be provided. Parents/Guardians and students are encouraged to attend.

Interact: Interested in giving back? Do you consider yourself a leader? Want to participate in service opportunities in the community? If you do please consider joining Club Interact this year! Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 10th before school from 7:40-7:55 in the faculty cafeteria and all are welcome!

Anime Club: Come and check out what the Anime Club is all about on Thursday September 12th in room 1235 from 3:15 – 4:15. This club is full of possibilities and I would like to work with you to make it a club that suits your interests. All are welcome! Contact Ms. Windle if you have any questions. 

The Write Place: Looking to add experiences to your college resume? Want to help your peers become better writers? Then The Write Place is the place for you! We are looking for student tutors, and our application is now open! All applications are due Friday, September 13th! Please fill out the linked Google Form. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Talarico.

The North Current – Student Newspaper: The North Current, Glenbard North’s student newspaper, is looking for your talents! Are you interested in journalism? Do you like to write? Are you a photographer? Do graphic arts interest you? Looking for an opportunity to help design and run a website? Are you hoping to make some new friends? If so, the North Current is the place for you. Join us for our first meeting of the year on Monday, September 16 after school in the library. No experience is necessary, and new students are always welcome. We will meet after school in the library every Monday this year. We hope to see you there!

National Art Honor Society: This year’s NAHS meetings are on Tuesdays after PLC in the ceramics studio, 1458. This month we will be designing this year’s shirts and painting ceiling tiles. Come meet this year’s leadership team, make art, build community, and help kick this year off right. All are welcome, no experience necessary, grab a friend and we will see you on Tuesday.
