Girls Badminton: Attention ALL girls interested in trying out for Varsity Badminton. There will be a meeting before school Wednesday, February 14th at 7:15am. Please make it a priority to come to the meeting if you are interested in trying out for the varsity team. No experience needed. All are welcome.

School Counseling: Attention Seniors! The 2024-25 FAFSA is finally open! Get help completing your financial aid application during Periods 4 through 7 on Tuesday, February 13th. Come down to the School Counseling Office during your lunch hour or study hall to meet with our representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. See your school counselor with questions!

Girls Badminton: If you’re interested in badminton, find all Open Gym and Conditioning dates in the link provided. All open gyms are on Thursday nights for the month of February. It’s not too early to get your Gold Card for tryouts. You will not be able to tryout if you do not have a Gold Card. Please see the athletic office to get your card.

BSA: Come celebrate Black History Month with the Black Student Association as we present The Evolution of Music: Sounds of Blackness. Join us February 15th at 7pm in the auditorium as we take you on a musical journey. Admission is free!

FEM Club: INTRODUCING FEM CLUB: Looking for a safe and empowering space to help raise awareness around women’s issues?! Come check out our new Feminism Empowerment Movement Club! Our next meeting is on Monday, February 12th from 2:45 -3:30pm in Mrs. Nyland/Ms. Ladas’s room 1114! We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month! Everyone is welcome!   

Music: (Friday, Feb. 9) The GN Choirs are taking orders for Singing Valentines! What better way to show you care than to have your valentine serenaded. The cost is $2.00. Place your order during lunch periods on Monday and Tuesday. Singing Valentines will be delivered on Wednesday during periods 1, 2, 3, and 8. You may request a specific class period when you place your order. (Monday, Feb. 12) The GN Choirs are taking orders for Singing Valentines! Softball: Any girls interested in trying out for softball should attend an informational meeting on Thursday, 2/15 in Coach Sanew’s room 2108. Tryouts will begin on Monday, 2/26.

OLAS and Spanish Club: OLAS and Spanish Club are making heart shaped piñatas for Valentines Day to celebrate love and friendship! Come make a piñata for someone you love or care about on Tuesday, February 13th after school in room 2220. Materials and candy will be provided!

Juniors – Health Office: Juniors – All juniors will need to provide proof of your 2nd Meningococcal Conjugate vaccination (on or after your 16th birthday) to the health office by May 1st. This is a 12th grade school entry requirement. You will not be able to get a parking spot, school ID, or start school in the fall without proof of this vaccination. Please email  a copy of your completed vaccination record. Come see the nurses if you need vaccination resources.

Yearbook: Don’t miss your opportunity to purchase a yearbook! The last chance deadline to order a yearbook is February 24th. Visit jostens.com to place your order. 

Senior Class: Seniors, order your Class of 2024 shirts and yard signs before February 15th. $15 individually or $25 if you order both. 

Influencers: Seniors, make sure you submit videos and pictures for the senior film before March 15th. We need at least 1000 pics and 50 videos total.
