Panther Rundown February 3, 2024

Girls Track & Field: The Girls Track & Field season begins this week.  Get your Gold Card and join the team for practice at 3:15pm in the Dance Studio.  Contact Coach Eric Day  with any questions.  
 
Greek Club: Want to learn about Greek culture, food, music, traditions, and more?? Come check out Greek Club! Everyone is welcome! Our next meeting is this Thursday, February 6th in room 1114 from 3:15-4pm!!
 
The Write Place: The Write Place is running a Valentine’s Day-themed promotion through the beginning of February. Submit your entry for a chance to win a Dunkin’ gift card! Anyone who enters can also pick up a candy bar on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14th) at The Write Place. Details for the submission will be given soon. 
 
Softball: Any girl interested in trying out for softball this spring should attend a brief meeting on Monday, February 3rd at 3:05 in room 2108.  If you can’t attend the meeting stop by and see Coach Sanew in room 2108.  Tryouts are March 3 – March 6.
 
Panther Closet: The Panther Closet, located in the student cafeteria, is a FREE resource available to Glenbard North students and staff.  The closet is stocked with clothes, coats, shoes, accessories, and toiletries for the Panther community.  If you are in need of clothes or love to go thrifting, the Panther Closet is the place for you.  The Panther closet will be open on Wednesday mornings before school starting on January 29.  Stop by and check out what we have to offer.  Everything in the Panther Closet is FREE, and you are welcome to take as much as you like.  If you cannot get to the closet before school on Wednesday mornings, please email Ms. Buck-Castaneda to schedule a time to visit.  If you are interested in volunteering to help out in the Panther Closet, please email Ms. Buck-Castaneda.
 
The North Current – Student Newspaper: Are you interested in journalism?  Do you like to write?  Are you a photographer or artist looking to have your work published?  Do you like to play around with website design?  Is your New Year’s resolution to become more involved at Glenbard North?  Are you looking to make some new friends?  If you answered yes to ANY of these questions, the North Current – Glenbard North’s student newspaper – is the place for you!  We are looking for writers, photographers, artists, website managers, and leaders to join us.  Our next meeting will be on Monday, February 3 after school in the library.  Come check us out!  It’s never too late to join our team, and no experience is necessary.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Buck-Castaneda or Ms. Slattery.  Check us out at: gbn current link can be found in students email.
 
Theatre: The singing audition sign up for The Addams Family the Musical is now posted on the display case outside of the Little Theatre. If you are auditioning for the musical, sign up for 1 slot on the sign-up. Signing auditions will be on Tuesday, February 4th starting at 3:15pm. Questions? Contact Ms. Talarico

Interact: Please stop down to the student cafeteria for Glenbard North’s annual Valentines for Vets activity during all lunch periods Wednesday, February 5th! Supplies will be provided so that you can make some cards and show the love to those currently in service or that have served on our behalf!

Athletics: The Spring Gold Card Link is now Available please scan the QR Code can be found in students emails and in the athletics office.
 
Theatre: AUDITION Notice! Interested in auditioning for the spring shows, Mustardseed and The Addams Family Musical? Acting auditions will be on February 3rd, singing will occur on February 4th and dance on February 5th. For more information for what to prepare/what to expect, look at the link can be seen in students email. If you’ve got any questions, reach out to Ms. Gillis or Ms.Talarico. Civics Club: Is one of your 2025 goals to get involved in your community? Civics Club is the place for you! Join us to help organize an event at school to meet local leaders and learn about their jobs and upcoming elections. Meetings are on Mondays after school in Room 1110 with Mrs. Bray-Parker and Ms. McDonnell on  2/10, 2/24. See you there!
