BSA: In celebration of Black History Month, BSA and the Library are presenting The Rhythm of Our Roots, a Journey Through Black Storytelling on Tuesday February 25th in the library at 3pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
 
BSA: BSA will be selling Panther Black History Month t-shirts for $7 during lunch periods on Friday 2/21, Monday 2/24, and Tuesday 2/25.

Nurse: Teachers and All Staff – February is American Heart Month. Come to 1235 on Friday February 21st for a quick 20 min. class at the start of each lunch period on Compressions Only CPR. Learn how to save a life and how to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. You will get hands on practice on a CPR dummy. Show Stompers Step Team: Popcorn! Popcorn! Get Your Popcorn! Support the Step Team in our spring fundraiser by purchasing a bag or two of DoubleGood Popcorn. Our Pop-Up Shop begins Wednesday February 19th at 7am and ends Sunday February 23rd at 7am. Visit DoubleGood Popcorn to view our Popup Shop
 
Triple A ( Asian American Association ): A student-led, district-wide multicultural event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 7–9 p.m., uniting District 87’s four high schools to celebrate cultural diversity through performances and shared experiences. Admission is free! This year’s theme, “Sailing the Seven Seas,” highlights the connections across our schools. Join us in supporting Triple A, OLA, and Show Stompers!
 
World Language Department: ATTENTION SENIORS TAKING A LANGUAGE AT GBN:  If you plan to attend college and continue studying your language you may apply for the Seigmeyer Scholarship!  Please complete the application at link in students email.
 
Friendship Bracelets – Fundraiser: Are you looking for the perfect way to tell your friends how much you appreciate them?  Purchase a friendship bracelet during lunch in the cafeteria between February 18-February 21.  Each bracelet costs $1, comes with a special card, and will be delivered to students during the school day.  Brighten someone’s day by letting them know you’re thinking of them.  All proceeds will benefit the EL Scholarship. Yearbook: This is it—the FINAL deadline to snag your very own yearbook! You know, the one that’s going to hold all the memories, laughs, and maybe a few questionable outfit choices. Deadline: Friday, February 28th How to Order: Jostens website link in student’s emails. Seriously, don’t wait! You’ll thank yourself when you’re flipping through the pages years from now, reminiscing about the best moments of this year. Plus, you know you want to see those super cute candids of your friends (and maybe yourself). Go ahead and secure your copy now before it’s too late. Trust me, future-you will be SO glad you did. There will NOT be extra copies for purchase at then end of the year!

Civics Club: Local Candidate Open House! Civics Club is hosting an event for the community to meet candidates running for local government positions in the GBN cafeteria on Saturday, March 1st from 10:00am-1:00pm.
