The North Current – Student Newspaper: Are you interested in journalism? Do you like to write or take photographs? Are you a graphic designer? Looking for leadership opportunities? After School Theatre: TEACHERS ONLY: If you are willing and able to help us advertise our Theatre productions for this semester by displaying a poster in your office or room, please click on the provided link and enter your information. We will deliver a poster to your room for you to hang for each play this semester, usually about two to three weeks before opening night of the current production. Social Studies: Attention Seniors: If you have enjoyed and excelled in your Social Studies courses throughout your four years at Glenbard North, you should consider applying for the Social Studies Scholarship. Applicants do not have to major in a Social Studies related field in college; nor do applicants have to plan on becoming a Social Studies teacher. You simply must be a senior who has done well in your Social Studies courses and can express how you have grown through these experiences. Applications need to be submitted to Mr. Coon by 2:35 on Monday, March 12.
Social Studies Department: Your VOTE is your VOICE: If you will turn 18 on or before November 5, 2024, AND are a U.S. citizen, you are able to vote in both the March 19 primaries as well as the general election on November 5. HOWEVER, you cannot vote if you are NOT registered to vote! Glenbard North, along with the League of Women Voters is conducting a voter registration drive on February 15 during all lunch periods. Green Panthers: Want to learn WHY the area by Klein Creek is missing all the trees? This area is located south of GBN close to North Avenue. Mr. Greg Ulreich (Civil Engineer with the Village of Carol Stream) will be presenting about the Klein Creek Restoration project which Green Panthers will be assisting by planting native plants along the creek this spring. Join us to learn about how our community is making positive changes with the environment. Join us February 22 at 3pm – 4pm in room 1212 for the presentation.
Green Panthers: Want to help make the planet healthier for all to enjoy? Green Panthers goal is to act locally by supporting a healthier habitat for all through recycling, reusing, and reducing. Join us on February 15th after school in the library from 2:45pm. – 3:30pm. We will be discussing positive ways to promote our goal through the Panther Instagram by developing story boards and announcements. Mark your calendars and see you February 15th after school.
Softball: Any girls interested in trying out for softball should attend an informational meeting on Thursday, 2/15 in Coach Sanew’s room 2108. Tryouts will begin on Monday, 2/26.
Juniors – Health Office: Juniors – All juniors will need to provide proof of your 2nd Meningococcal Conjugate vaccination (on or after your 16th birthday) to the health office by May 1st. This is a 12th grade school entry requirement. You will not be able to get a parking spot, school ID, or start school in the fall without proof of this vaccination. Please email a copy of your completed vaccination record to the nurse. Come see the nurses if you need vaccination resources.
