Future Doctors of America: Hey science scholars! As many of you have heard, Future Doctors of America is asking for sock donations for the hallie strong foundation in hopes of brightening a patient’s day. Do you want a chance to win donuts for your class? The science class with the most socks that are new, crazy, and fun, of course, will win donuts! Each science room will have a box for donations. You have until Friday, November 30th to win! Competition begins on November 26th.
Pantera Dance Club: Did you ever want to learn how to dance to Latin music? Come learn Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and other Latin dances at the Pantera Dance Club. We will be convening every Thursday in the faculty cafe at 2:45. Open to everyone that would like to have some fun. See you there!
Girls Soccer: Anyone interested in trying out for girls soccer this spring should attend an after school meeting to be held in the faculty cafeteria, on Tuesday, 12/4, at 2:40 pm.
Theatre: Due to school being canceled, the Theatre Interest Meeting for the winter play “Ordinary People” scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled for Tuesday (Today) right after school in the theatre, with auditions Wednesday and Thursday (attend one day). Callbacks will be Friday with the first full-ensemble meeting Monday, December 3.
Wrestling: Congratulations to the wrestling team for a very successful start to their season over the holiday break. Last Wednesday, the freshman, JVI, and Varsity Team all went 3-0 on the night. The varsity defeated two Top 20 teams and the fifth-ranked team in the state in Dekalb. On the weekend, the JVI and JVII placed first and second in the 14-team Glenbard Invitational. Champions included: Luc Maschino, Deven Dettloff, Raj Rao, Trent Winters, Miguel Desiderio, Jaden Franzen, David Gilliam, Jaylen Garay, Max Shershen, Alex Ericson, and Lauden Edwards. For the Varsity, they won the 14-team Conant Invitational with 268 points, that was 128 points in front of second place Carl Sandburg, another Top 10 team. Champions included: Mehrshad Bashang, Anthony Pennington, George Marre, Ryan Wahrman, and Abe Assad. Abe Assad was also voted the tournaments Outstanding Wrestler. Runner-Up finishers were: Ronan Schuelke, Patrick Curran, Kyler Kradle, and Alonzo Smiley. Other place-winners included: Jake Wilson, David Ruiz, Nick Transon, Jimmy Marre, Matt Chi, and Jack Barracca. Come out Thursday night as your wrestlers face off against Lyons Township, and then Friday, also here at home for the opening of the Dukane Conference season with another Top Ten opponent in St. Charles East High School.
