Club Interact: Gratitude Day is coming up on Wednesday, November 20th!! Pizza and supplies provided so just bring your teammates, your club, a friend or just yourself to the cafeteria after school to make notes of gratitude! Hope to see everyone there!
Auto’s Club: Auto’s Club is this Wednesday, November 20 in room 1-574 from 2:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Auto’s Club is open for everyone and all skill levels are welcome. Learn about the basics of an automobile or take your skills to the next level with live repair jobs.
MSA: Muslim Student Association will be meeting on Thursday, November 21 in 1-574, the autos lab, for their weekly meeting. Come join if you want to meet other Muslim students in the school or are interested in learning more about Islam. Contact Ms. Mahmudi or Mr. Hussain for more information.
Asian American Association: Asian American Association will have a club meeting this Wednesday, November 20 after school in room 1-108.
Boys Swimming: If you are interested in joining Boys Swimming make sure you come down to the Athletics Office this week to get your gold card! Practices will start next Monday, and you MUST have a gold card to participate.
SADD: This week SADD is recognizing and supporting those who struggle with mental health issues. Each day is dedicated to a different mental health issue. Please join us in letting your friends and classmates know that you are here for them by purchasing a Here for You t-shirt and wearing it on Friday. They are $8 long sleeve t-shirts, and we are selling them all lunch periods at the North end of the cafeteria. We will also have various giveaways available at the table along with information that may help you or someone you know with a mental health issue.
Civics Club: Attention everyone that cares about the environment that we live in. Last Friday, November 15th was National Recycle Day. We will start to see informational posters around the school. Please read them and begin thinking about ways you can lessen your landfill waste. Anyone that is interested in becoming an active member of this initiative should attend either the Civics Club meeting on December 5th or a special collaborative meeting with Wheaton North on December 10th. Key Club: Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 26th, at 7:00 a.m. in the Faculty cafeteria. If you are interested in giving back to the community through kind acts of service, this is the club for you. Please drop by and bring a friend with you! See you soon!
World Language Department: Are you a Senior? Did you score a 540 on your SAT English? Are you fluent in Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese or Russian? If so, you may be eligible to earn the Seal of Biliteracy. Any interested students need to complete the google form at www.bit.ly/Biliterate2019 before November 26th. See Mrs. Balhan in 2-236 if you have any questions.
Theatre: You’ve thought about getting involved in Glenbard theatre, now is your chance! Whether you want to act on stage or help backstage. Even if you have no experience. Find out how to get involved by coming to the THEATRE INTEREST MEETING Wednesday, November 20th right after school at 2:45 p.m. to meet others interested. The meeting will start at 2:45 with the details of the program. Bring a friend! Bring two! If you cannot attend, but still want to participate, please pick up an info packet and audition information in front of the theatre!
Winter Food Drive: Each year the Carol Stream community organizes a winter food drive called Christmas Sharing. The food drive helps those in need. Starting next Monday and ending Friday, December 11th, we will be collecting non-perishable food items like canned soup, peanut butter and jelly, pasta, and pancake mix. Donations can be dropped off in your 2nd period class or the cafeteria. Thank you for your support of those in need.
