Veteran’s Day Announcement 2021 Veterans Day began as ‘Armistice Day’ on November 11, 1919 as it marked the first anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1926, Congress passed a resolution for an annual observance, and November 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Veterans Day is a day to honor all American veterans, both living and dead, and to express our gratitude to our servicemen and women who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military. Glenbard North is proud to recognize members of our faculty who are veterans.
Justin Kerwin: Captain in the U.S. Marines and served in Iraq. Sam Wilson: Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. Maurice Harland: Staff Sergeant in the US Army and served in Korea. Erin Landry: Corporal in the U.S. Marines. Ernest Jones: Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. Joe Schecht: Staff Sergeant with the Illinois Army National Guard. Richard Theus: Specialist with the Wisconsin Army National Guard and served in Afghanistan.
On behalf of the entire Glenbard North community, we thank you for your service to our country as well as to areas of the world where the U.S. military has been deployed to help provide stability and security for citizens of other countries.
