Glenbard North Bulletin
Theatre: Interested in doing THEATRE this Winter? But wait! What about social distancing? YES! WE ARE GOING TO MAKE A SOCIALLY-DISTANCED MOVIE! This year’s winter play (movie) will be 10 Ways to Survive Life In a Quarantine.
SUMMARY: If you’re spending a long time at home, it can be a challenge to keep yourself occupied. Luckily, 10 Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine is full of handy solutions, from putting on a musical with your dog, to becoming an announcer for a made-up sport, to falling in love with an inanimate object. Hey, we promised handy solutions – we never said they wouldn’t be strange.
Theatre has something to offer everyone, regardless of skill level–whether you want to act on camera or behind! Find out how to get involved by coming to the THEATRE INTEREST MEETING Wednesday, November 18 at 2:45 PM via ZOOM to find out how to get involved and learn about the details of the program. Invite a friend! Invite two! The meeting will take place on Zoom. If you cannot attend, but still want to participate, please join the “After School Theatre Group” for more information with the code: W2CBX-4KDZR.
Gratitude Day: November is the month of giving thanks and what better way to do that than participating in Glenbard North’s Gratitude day? Next Wednesday, November 18th at 2:30 we invite all students and staff to make someone’s day special and express gratitude to those around us… We will be writing notes of thanks to school staff members, friends or family members to express our gratitude and appreciation for their impact on us. Bring yourself, bring your friends, or bring your whole club/activity/sport to participate and recognize the important people in our lives!
Science Olympiad: Science Olympiad is back at Glenbard North! If you are interested in competing against other schools in a wide variety of science events, Science Olympiad is the club for you! We compete in a wide variety of subjects- Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Engineering, Astronomy, Geology, Chemistry- we do it all! Contact Mr. Heise in the science department for more details. This year will look a little bit different for us- we’ll be meeting on Zoom, and competing virtually, but the regional competition is still (virtually) on! So if you are interested in learning more about some areas of science that you don’t normally get to learn about in class, or are looking to go into a science or technology career, come check out Science Olympiad! Our first meeting is Tuesday, November 17th, at 1:00 p.m. Come join the fun!
National Art Honor Society: To help combat continued isolation and to help raise the spirits of residents in assisted living facilities, NAHS is currently working on creating a digital coloring + activity book that will be shared with local facilities. If you would like to create a page, we would love to have you! It can be anything from a card, coloring page, activity page, an illustration of your favorite quote, anything that can help increase engagement! Not ‘good’ at drawing? We will help you! Please contact April Mac (April_Macatangay@glenbard.
