Athletics: Believe it or not spring is just around the corner. Any student wishing to try out or participate in a spring sport should stop in the athletic office for their gold card. Spring sports include: Boys Track, Girls Track, Badminton, Baseball, Boys Gymnastics, Girls Soccer, Softball, Boys Tennis, and Boys Volleyball.

 

Heart- Shaped Pizzas: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Show your heart and help support the Post Prom event. Give a unique Valentine’s gift. Treat someone to a special delicious, heart-shaped pizza. Order forms are available in the Main Office. Ordering deadline is Friday, February 9th.

 

Newspaper: Are you interested in writing, photography, or cartooning? If so, The North Current is the perfect activity for you! Glenbard North’s student newspaper will have its next meeting on Thursday, February 1 after school in Room 2235. Pizza will be served. Come join the fun. New members are ALWAYS welcome!

 

The Write Place: Hello students! Is there something or someone in your life you love so much? So much that you can write an ode in sonnet form describing how you feel? Watch out for flyers around the school and in your English classrooms for instructions and how to win Valentine’s Day chocolate!

 

Girls Soccer: Interested in joining Glenbard North’s Girls Soccer Team? Come out to conditioning in the cardio lab most Tuesday’s and Thursday’s after school OR play at an open gym session. For times and dates text @2018grlsoc to the number 81010 or email/message Coach Stanfield or Coach Vesper. We hope to see you there!

 

Baseball: Anyone that is interested in playing baseball this spring, there will be a meeting after school on Tuesday, Jan 30 at 2:45 in the cafeteria. We will be discussing open gyms and the upcoming season. If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Smelko in the Physical Education Department.

 

Scholastic Bowl: In recent scholastic bowl action, the varsity Panthers battled to a 3rd place finish in the 30-team Homewood Flossmoor Invite. Sophomore Thomas Kent led the attack with 36 toss-ups. In last week’s Glenbard Tourney, the JV team, led by Jarred Baligod’s 7 toss-ups, won the championship! Way to go, Panthers!

 

Badminton: Attention all girls! Badminton will be having open gym Monday night from 6:30-8:30. There will be conditioning after school Wednesday from 2:45-3:30. Please meet after school outside the main gym. Bring a friend and some water! Hopefully we will see you all Monday night and Wednesday after school!

 

Cheerleading: Congratulations to the Panthers Varsity Cheerleading Team on receiving Top 3 at Sectionals! They will be advancing to State and performing this weekend. Good luck cheerleaders!

 

Boys Gymnastics: Boy’s gymnastics will be having open gyms Tuesday and Wednesday after school. Meet in the gymnastics balcony over the wrestling room at 3pm.

 

Boys Wrestling: CONGRATULATIONS to the VARSITY WRESTLING TEAM on winning the DuPage Valley Conference this past Saturday at Metea Valley. The wrestlers crowned six champions out of eight finalists and reclaimed the DVC in its final year of existence. Overall, the wrestling program has won 29 team titles and crowned 168 individual champions in the DVC’s 43 years of existence.

Boys Track & Field: Attention all boys interested in Track and Field. There will be a informational meeting for all athletes interested in Boys Track and Field on Tuesday January 30th immediately after school in the health classroom. Practice schedule and meet schedule will be handed out so please see coach Karwowski if you have a conflict.
