Boys Track and Field: There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, January 28th in the Driver Education room at 2:30 after the bell for all boys interested in Boys Track and Field. All returning athletes and newcomers should attend. If you already have your athletic gold card please bring that to the meeting. All questions or interested athletes that cannot attend please see coach Karwowski in the PE office.
Boys Volleyball: Anyone interested in becoming involved with the volleyball program there will be a mandatory Pre-Season Mtg. Tuesday 1/27 in the Health classroom @ 2:45. If you are currently in another sport, stop by and grab an informational packet before your practice/game.
WinterFest: You have heard other schools talking about it, well now WinterFest is coming to GBN. This is an indoor music festival for everyone. Just wear black or neon, no need to get fancy. Tickets go on sale this Thursday during all lunch periods for $20. Guest forms can be picked up in the dean’s office and need to be filled out before you buy a ticket. Next week the price goes up to $25, so get them early. Buy tickets on Thursday and Friday to be entered for a chance for you and 9 Friends to get VIP tickets, this means you can cut the line, have your own coat check, and many other perks. Homecoming is for couples, Prom is for Seniors, Winterfest is for Everyone!
SADD: SADD will have a meeting after school in room 1241 on Wednesday, January 29th. Come be the difference at GBN. New members welcome.
FACS/Business: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Show your heart and help support our Senior Award. Give a unique Valentine’s gift and treat someone to a delicious, heart-shaped pizza from Aurelio’s. Each pizza – serves 3-4 available in Cheese, Sausage, or Pepperoni. Girls Badminton: Attention all girls! Have you been wanting to get involved but have not found the right sport? Well, badminton might be the right fit for you! Girls with all ability levels are welcome to come and join us as we prepare for the season. Whether you play a Fall or Winter sport and want to stay conditioned or are brand new to the world of sports, we welcome you! We have rackets, all you have to do is show up! This week we will have Open Gym Monday from 6-8pm and Conditioning Tuesday from 2:45-3:45. Come meet some new people and give badminton a try!
Cheer: Come support your varsity cheerleaders at sectionals this Saturday, February 1st at Niles West High School. We need everyone in the stands as we compete for a spot at state!
Health Office: The 16 Vaccine – the meningococcal vaccination is a requirement for all 12th graders. It is called the 16 vaccine because that is the age when you need to get your second dose. So don’t wait for 12th grade, get your vaccine when you turn 16!
Key Club: Key Club will meet on Tuesday morning in room 2104. The meeting will start at 7:05 am.
Strive: Feeling overwhelmed? Not understanding a new concept? COME TO STRIVE after school in room 2100! We are here to help! A new semester and a new start–looking forward to seeing you in Strive!
Club Interact: Wednesday, February 5th is our Annual Valentine’s for Vets here at GBN! All are welcome to come and make cards to current service men and women as well as hospitalized veterans overseas. Supplies and of course PIZZA! will be provided so come show your gratitude for those that have sacrificed so much after school in the cafeteria!
Boys Tennis: Interested in coming out for the boys tennis team? Come to a pre-season meeting on February 5 at 3pm in Room 1580. Meet the new coaches and find out what Panther Tennis is all about!
Theatre: The Northern Lights are in the sky and love is in the frosty air in Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north it’s almost not in the United States. One winter night as the aurora borealis hovers in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Strangers become friends, friends become lovers, and lovers turn into strangers in this delightful midwinter night’s dream. Ticket sales for Almost, Maine are now available for purchase at the box office by the cafeteria. Performances are February 13th, 14th, and 15th at 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theatre. Tickets cost $8 with cash or check, or $9 with a credit card. You can also buy tickets online at www.glenbardnorthhs.seatyourself.biz.
Women’s Empowerment Club: Women’s Empowerment Club wants to help you get the new year off to a great start by hosting a Vision Board party. Join us to create a vision board of your goals and dreams for 2020. All are welcome. Materials and snacks provided. See you on Wednesday, January 29th right after school in Room 1412.
