Girls Basketball: Congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team on defeating the Wheaton Warrenville South Tigers on Tuesday night by a score of 46-29. Chloe D’Alexander led all scorers with 14 points, Sophia Pedraza added 10 points, and Katie Nolan 9 points. The Panthers are back in action on Thursday night against Streamwood. THIS WILL BE SENIOR NIGHT!!! Game time is 5:30 for JV and 7:00 PM for Varsity, come early as we honor our seniors before varsity warm-ups begin.

Super Fans: This Thursday is Senior night for girls basketball. Come out to cheer the girls on at home vs. Streamwood at 7pm. Our chess team is also heading to State this week! Challenge your friends to a game with the giant chess board outside the auditorium during all lunches on Thursday and Friday to celebrate and send the team off.

Art Department: Gifted Artist Scholarship: Any senior planning to pursue a career in visual arts can apply. Applications are due by March 22. Email your art teacher for the link.

African American Read-In: The library will be hosting an African American Read-In on February 27th. But in order to do that, we need students and staff volunteers to help us celebrate Black authors, poets, artists, and musicians. You can read a passage by an African American author, or share your own original writing or art. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form in this week’s bulletin by February 10th. If you want to participate, but don’t know what to read, the librarians can help you! 

Spirit Week: Our Show the Love Spirit Week takes place from February 13th to 17th. Get your fits ready!

Indian Student Association: The GBN Indian Student Association presents India Night 2023: Cinema Ki Raat on Friday February 24 and Saturday February 25th. Tickets are available by scanning the QR code on the posters around school, or follow us on Instagram GBN_ISA  

Girls Badminton: Girls badminton preseason opportunities for this week are as follows: Today, Monday, after PLC is conditioning. Meet outside the main gym.Open gym is Tuesday, from 6-8pm in the main gym.  

Nurse:  JUNIORS You need a 2nd Meningococcal vaccination to enter 12th grade. You can not get a parking pass, school ID, or start 12th grade until the nurses have proof of this vaccination. Please email proof of vaccinations to nurse OR drop off in the Health Office. Come see us OR check the GBN health office page for local vaccination resources.

Panther Closet:  Need a new winter coat or clothes for the cold weather? Tired of wearing the same hoodie? Do you love thrifting? The Panther Closet – located in the student cafeteria – is full of clothes of all styles and sizes for all seasons — and everything is FREE! Stop by on Wednesday mornings before school and check out what is available. Or contact Ms. Buck-Castaneda or Ms.DiLeonardi to make an appointment to visit the closet at another time.

Music: Valentine’s Day is approaching, and love is in the air! What better way to show your admiration than to send a Singing Valentine to that special someone in your life. The GN Choirs will be taking orders for Singing Valentines this week on Thursday, Friday, and Monday during all lunch periods. The cost is only $2.00 to have your loved one serenaded for Valentine’s Day. Singing Valentines will be delivered during periods 1, 2, 3, and 8 on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Sign up in the cafeteria during your lunch hour and show someone you care! You may request a specific class period when you place your order.    

Girls Soccer: The girls soccer season is only a few weeks away! Athletes that are not competing in a winter sport should prepare by joining the pre-season strength and conditioning program on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. All training sessions will start in the weight room. We’ve had a great turn out so far so don’t miss out and fall behind. We look forward to seeing you there! Yearbook:  If you haven’t purchased your 2023 Glenbard North Yearbook yet, you don’t have much time left! Your final deadline to log onto Jostens.com for Glenbard North High School is February 24, 2023. Take a minute with your family to ensure you’ve got memories captured for a lifetime!  

BOYS TENNIS: Interested in joining GBN’s Boys Tennis team this season? Stop by room 1580 on January 31st after school. We will be hosting a brief meeting to inform you what this year’s season will look like and how to prepare you before Try-Outs. See you then!
