Speech Team: Congratulations to Vinay Varghese Vellara who placed ninth in Oratorical Declamation at the virtual IHSA Individual Events State Tournament this past weekend. Great job to the entire speech team on another successful season!
Girls Badminton: Congratulations to the girls Varsity Badminton team for their first win this season against St. Charles North! The girls did a fantastic job overall! It’s great to see the team coming together and having fun! We are proud of you girls!
Key Club: Are you interested in helping the community? Or maybe you’d like to become a leader? Or are you just looking for a little bit fun? LIBRARY: We are thrilled to bring our third annual African American Read-In to you again this year! While it will be a little different, we are hoping to make it still as meaningful and important as it always has been! We will be doing this via Zoom as a webinar, so we will be sending out the link as we get closer to the event!

LIBRARY MESSAGE FOR SENIORS: If you currently have a book, keyboard, calculator, textbook, etc. checked out from the library, please make sure you have a plan to get those back to us BEFORE it gets close to graduation. If you have items checked out from last year, you should be getting Schoology messages from Mrs. Castiglia – please don’t ignore them! You can bring items to door 1 if you are remote or to the book drop by the library if you are here in the building. Either way, we need you to start thinking about getting your materials back to us (especially if you have had them for a while). If you are still using your calculator, keyboard or textbook, please plan to return them before the end of the school year.
English Department: Attention Seniors: The GBN English Department is calling for submissions to the annual Hennessey Award for Poetry competition. If you’re a poet looking for the opportunity to be recognized this year for your verse, please consider entering. One winner will be selected by the English Department and will be announced at the Senior Awards Night.

Social Studies: Attention Seniors: Applications for the Social Studies Senior Scholarship are now being accepted. You can access the link in the Local Scholarships Schoology Group, through your Social Studies teacher, or by using the link. Completed applications are due by 3:00pm on Monday, March 15. You do not have to major in Social Studies in college or become a Social Studies teacher to apply; you just need to have excelled in Social Studies through your high school experience. Please email Mr. Kevin Coon if you have any questions.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: Are you interested in serving as an election judge for the April 6th elections? If you are, you need to attend one of the Zoom meetings to find out more information. Feb 25 at 7:00am or 12:45pm. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Bray-Parker or Mr. Coon.
Girls Track and Field: Any girls that are interested in joining the girls track and field team, please join our Schoology page using the access code: Q92BT-843S7. Audition Videos Due Wednesday, February 24!
Boys Soccer: Are you interested in playing soccer this season? We have started open gym sessions every Wednesday night in the fieldhouse and tryouts start March 1st. You need to be registered before attending any sessions and consent to saliva screening. Contact Coach Mandakas to get signed up.
Nurse’s Office: FRESHMAN: If you have not turned in your dental exam to the health office, please turn one in as soon as possible. Due by May 1, 2021. The exam must be completed by a dentist, on the State of Illinois Dental Exam form, dated on or after 11/15/2019 *All health forms are located on the Glenbard North Health Office page*
JUNIORS: Please turn in proof of your Meningococcal Vaccination by 5/25/21. This is a 12th grade school entry requirement. Anyone 16 years or older can get vaccinated for meningitis. Please make a doctor’s appointment to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
