OLAS: We would like to invite you to our first Organization by Latin American Students (OLAS) meeting to take place on Wednesday, September 11 at 2:45 in the student Cafeteria. We will have lots of information about all the exciting activities that will take place this year. If you have any questions contact Ms. Guerrero, Mr. Cruz or Mr. Monarrez.
Link Crew: Attention all Link Leaders! We will be having mandatory brief informational sessions during ALL lunch periods next Wednesday September 4th in room 1216 to explain the GOALS room lunch assignments. Please attend during your lunch period. See you all there!
Boys Basketball: Open Gym Boys Basketball Lifting/Conditioning has started. Anyone that is not in a fall sport is welcome. We will meet up in the weight room right after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Black Student Association: Black Student Association will have its first meeting after school on Thursday September 5th at 2:45 in room 1454. All students are welcome to come join the fun of learning about African American culture and history while also having a chance to show your school spirit BSA style. See you there!
Future Doctors of America: Future Doctors of America will have their first meeting: Thursday September 5 at 7:00am in room 2230. Please attend if you are interested in a career in the health field.
Speech Team: Everybody knows how to talk! Why not put your skills to the test? No matter how talkative you are, the Speech Team has something to offer everyone! Auditions will be held September 3rd and 5th from 3:30 to 6:00 in room 1408. Audition packets and the sign up sheet will be outside room 1408. Hope to see you there!
FTA: GBN students, have you ever thought of becoming a teacher? Are you looking to add an activity that you can put on your college applications? Do you want to meet new friends? If you said yes to any of these, the Future Teachers of America might be a great club for you. The first meeting is in room 1104/1106 on September 10th. Stop by, eat a cookie, and figure out what FTA is all about. Once again, the first FTA meeting is on September 10th after school in room 1104/1106.
Green Panthers: Do you have a Green Thumb? Do you want to help create a clean, green, and beautiful school environment. If you answered yes to any of these questions join Green Panthers. The first meeting will be Sept. 4th @ 2:45 in 2-228. Ask Miss Rossetti for more information.
STRIVE: Need help with your homework? Don’t understand the material in your classes? If you answered yes to either of these questions, STRIVE, our after-school tutoring program, will begin on Tuesday, September 3. STRIVE is right after school in Room 2100 on Monday through Thursday. Teachers will be available to help you with your homework and to study. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Jungmann or Ms. Mahoney.
Newspaper: Are you interested in journalism, photography, or cartooning? Come check out the North Current, Glenbard North’s student newspaper. We will have a brief meeting for new members interested in joining on Thursday, August 29 in Room 2235 after school. Planning for our first issue of the year will begin on Wednesday, September 4 after school in Room 2235. Everyone is welcome, and no experience is necessary. See Ms. Buck-Castaneda or Ms. Pierce for more information.
Poms: *ANY Junior or Senior girls interested in playing in the Powder Puff game can still purchase a jersey in the ATHLETIC OFFICE or ONLINE on the GBN Pantherette twitter account. The LAST opportunity to purchase a jersey will be Friday, August 30th. Remember jerseys are $35, and you can always purchase one and not play!
*ANY senior boys interested in signing up for Pom Security, please stop by the athletic office to fill out a form. The cost is $20 and includes a T-shirt and admission to the game. You can also sign up at the football game on September 2nd.
