Annual Notice of Integrated Pest Management

Glenbard Township High School District #87 is committed to providing a safe environment for our communities, staff, students, and all who are in our care. We seek to effectively manage pest sighting incidences while reducing the chance of exposure to pesticide use. To help maintain a high level of commitment, Glenbard Township High School District #87 has implemented an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan as defined by the Structural Pest Control Act (225 ILCS 235/3.24). IPM plans include both chemical and non-chemical treatment of pest management.

Glenbard Township High School District #87 hopes that the use of the IPM system will minimize the need for excessive use of pesticides, and hence, reduce the risk of any accidental exposure to such pesticides. While pesticides may be used to remediate infestations of pests found in or around a facility, only the least toxic products will be considered and used in combination with non-chemical methods, whenever possible. At the present time, Glenbard Township High School District #87 does not apply pesticides on a regular basis. Glenbard Township High School District #87 will keep a record, on-site, of all pesticide use.

Additionally, Glenbard Township High School District #87 assumes the responsibility of notifying our community, staff, and students of any upcoming pesticide treatment. The Illinois Structural Pest Control Act requires 2-day prior notification to when a pesticide application is scheduled to occur. Notification of any upcoming pest and pesticide treatment will be posted to the school website in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Respectfully submitted by the Buildings, Grounds, and Transportation department.
