Chess club: The Panther chess team went 2-2 this weekend at the Glenbard Classic held at Glenbard South. The team consisted of Corvin Dang, Wendell Hughes, John Ha, Daniel Prochaska, Abe Thang, Jayson Randle, and Jaden Holtz. This Saturday is the conference finals at Lake Park. Good luck to the chess team!
Girls badminton: Preseason begins today! Join us for conditioning after PLC today and Wednesday after school. Conditioning helps prep you for the season and trains the muscles important to stay injury free. Please meet outside the main gym and be ready to work. We hope to see you today and Wednesday.
Candy Tournament Bracket: Play the in the Candy Tournament! The Top 10 point earners for each round will a raffle ticket. The overall winner will get 5 raffle tickets. We’ll draw winners when it’s all done. It’s easy to play. Round 1 is now open.

Panther Press N Presents its 2nd annual Celebration of Black History: Cost: $20 a shirt. What: Long Sleeve Shirts will be heather grey with one of the 3 options on the front and GBN on the back. Lit Fest: Calling all writers and creatives — the 2023 DuKane Conference Lit Fest is around the corner. Submit your poetry, descriptive sketches, short fiction, personal essays, or spoken word poetry by Friday, January 13. All contributing writers will have the opportunity to receive awards, feedback, and workshop with talented writers in our area. See your English teacher for submission details.
Counseling: Local Scholarships: Class of 2023 Local Scholarships: Do you need $$ for college or a trade school? Go to the Local Scholarship Schoology Group and start filling out applications today. Deadlines range from late January to March.
After School Theatre: Theatre has something to offer everyone, regardless of skill level – whether you want to act on stage or help backstage. Find out how to get involved by coming to the THEATRE INTEREST MEETING in the Little Theatre on Tuesday, January 10th to meet others that are interested. The meeting will start at 2:45pm with the details of the program, and will last until 4:00pm. Bring a friend! Bring two! If you cannot attend, please see the posters or TVs around school for more information. Auditions for the Spring Studios and Play will be Thursday, January 19th and Friday, January 20th, starting at 2:45pm in the Little Theatre. Show up either day, but not both! Please plan on being there until 5:30pm.
