medication at school

If your child requires medication at school, you will need to submit a Medication Consent Form that your physician has completed. Students are not allowed to take prescription or nonprescription medications at school until this form has been submitted.

  • Prescription medication should be brought to the Health Office in a container labeled by the pharmacy that includes: the name of the student, the name of the medication, the dosage, and the time and route of administration.
  • Nonprescription medication (Motrin, Advil, Tylenol, etc.) should remain in the original container and be labeled with the student’s name. Students are not allowed to carry any medication while at school except prescribed asthma inhalers, Epipens, insulin pens or Glucagon. Students carrying these medications also need to submit to the school nurse an individualized Emergency Action Plan signed by their physician.
